Vijay Gadepally is a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Lincoln Laboratory Supercomputing Center and works closely with the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). Vijay holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. At Ohio State, Vijay's research focused on the estimation of driver behavior and he was advised by Dr. Ashok Krishnamurthy (now at UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University and NCSU), Dr. Giorgio Rizzoni and Dr. Umit Ozguner. At Ohio State, Vijay held concurrent appointments with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Ohio Supercomputer Center. Vijay Gadepally holds a Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Vijay is interested in the technical and social aspects of autonomous (self-driving) vehicles and the role of technology in society. His research in signal processing focuses on developing mathematical models that accurately estimate and predict driver behavior. On the policy side, Vijay is interested in the social, ethical and legal aspects of widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles and other major technologies.
